Artist Bio

Estes Hansen (b. 1999) lives and works in Oregon.

Estes Hansen is an Oregon-Based visual artist who primarily works with acrylic paint on canvas. A childhood filled with constant movement and a lost sense of belonging, Estes pulls inspiration from the visual language of vintage advertisements and traditional sign painting that form his world and sense of nostalgia through his art. He is best recognized for his signature interpretation of the boxer figure, paired with an exploration of typography and a distinct color palette that has become synonymous with his name.

Driven and inspired by everyday experiences, personal battles with mental health, and the influence of the artists who came before him, Estes creates work that is both self-reflective and undeniably contemporary. His style maintains a consistent visual identity and language while remaining fluid, evolving with the stories he chooses to tell.

His first solo exhibition, Mama’s Boy, held in Mendocino, California, in December 2025, explored the profound impact of his mother’s illness and passing. Creating art from tragedy and the grieving process that follows. Estes's work is held in private collections both in the United States and internationally.
